Step 2 · Foam pads. Colour by function: green cuts, blue corrects, yellow polishes, red finishes and orange does it all in one step. High profile for rotary and DA, low profile for long-throw DAs and cross-cut for less sling. In 5.2" and 6.2" for 5" and 6" plates.
The pad should be slightly larger than the plate: 5.2" pads for 5" plates and 6.2" pads for 6" plates. High profile works on rotary and DA and is more forgiving on curves; low profile (with an EVA layer) is more stable on long-throw DAs (15 and 21 mm) because it wobbles less. Cross-cut holds more compound and slings less.
